1. The service
SilentAPI lets registered businesses ("merchants") collect payments by card, bank transfer and USSD, issue virtual accounts, create payment links and in-person terminals, hold a wallet balance and pay out to Nigerian bank accounts.
Live payments are processed by our licensed payment partner, Paystack. SilentAPI is not a bank and does not take deposits; money you collect is held for you and settled according to these terms.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for the business you register.
- The information you give us must be true and kept up to date.
- You are responsible for everything done with your login, your team members' logins and your API keys. Keep secret keys on your server only and rotate them if they may have been exposed.
- Tell us immediately at support@silentapi.site if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Verification (KYC)
Test mode is available straight away. To accept live payments you must complete business verification: business details, BVN, a government ID and a settlement bank account. We check these with our payment partner and may ask for more information at any time. We may refuse, suspend or close an account that fails verification or that we reasonably believe is high-risk.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use SilentAPI for anything illegal or for prohibited activities, including: fraud or scams; money laundering or terrorist financing; unlicensed lending, gambling, investment or forex schemes; Ponzi or pyramid schemes; sale of illegal drugs, weapons, counterfeit or stolen goods; adult content; or anything that violates Central Bank of Nigeria rules, our payment partner's rules or card scheme rules.
We may hold, reverse or refuse transactions we reasonably believe are fraudulent or prohibited, and report them to the authorities where required.
5. Fees
Our current fees are shown in your dashboard before you transact. At the time of writing, payment collections cost 1.5% (capped at ₦2,000.00 per payment) and each payout costs ₦50.00, with a minimum payout of ₦1,000.00. Fees are deducted automatically from the amount credited to your wallet or from the payout. We may change fees with notice in the dashboard or by email; changes apply to transactions after they take effect.
6. Wallet, settlement and payouts
- Successful payments are credited to your wallet, less fees.
- You can withdraw your available balance to a verified Nigerian bank account. Payouts may be sent automatically (daily or as soon as possible) if you turn that on.
- Payouts are normally sent the same business day but can be delayed by bank or partner downtime, verification checks or suspected fraud.
- Check recipient details carefully — we cannot always recover money sent to an account number you provided.
- Test-mode balances are not real money and cannot be withdrawn.
7. Refunds, chargebacks and disputes
You are responsible for refunds and customer disputes for your sales. If a customer's bank or card scheme reverses a payment (a chargeback), we may debit the amount and any related costs from your wallet or future collections. We may hold a reserve on high-risk accounts.
8. API and webhooks
The API is provided as described in the API reference. Always verify payments server-side and check webhook signatures before giving value. We work hard to keep the service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Suspension and closure
You can close your account at any time once your balance is settled. We may suspend or close your account, or limit features, if you breach these terms, fail verification, create risk for us or our partners, or if required by law. Where we can lawfully do so, we will settle your remaining balance (less fees, refunds and chargebacks) to your verified bank account.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, SilentAPI is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or losses caused by banks, our payment partner, network providers, or events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Questions? Email support@silentapi.site. See also our Privacy Policy.
